Cold Brew Season is Here!

Summer is here, and what better way to beat the heat than with a refreshing cup of cold brew coffee? As coffee lovers, we know that nothing quite satisfies our caffeine cravings like a well-brewed cup of coffee. But during those hot summer months, a hot cup of coffee may not always be the best option. That's where cold brew comes in – the perfect solution for coffee lovers looking to cool down while still enjoying the rich, bold flavors of their favorite brew.

So, what exactly is cold brew? Unlike traditional hot coffee, which is brewed with hot water, cold brew is made by steeping coffee grounds in cold water for an extended period of time. This method results in a smooth, less acidic cup of coffee that is perfect for sipping on a hot summer day.

If you haven't yet tried cold brew, there's no better time than now! With summer in full swing, now is the perfect time to enjoy a refreshing glass of cold brew. Whether you're lounging by the pool, enjoying a day at the beach, or simply looking for a delicious way to beat the heat, cold brew is the answer.

For those who are already fans of cold brew, you know just how delicious it can be. But for those who are new to the game, it can be a bit intimidating. Don't worry, though – making cold brew at home is actually quite simple. All you need is some coarsely ground coffee, cold water, and a bit of patience. Simply mix the coffee and water together in a pitcher or jar, let it steep for 12-24 hours, and then strain out the grounds. Voila – you've got yourself a batch of delicious cold brew! (Actual recipe below)

Summer is the perfect time to enjoy a refreshing cup of cold brew coffee. Whether you're a die-hard coffee lover or simply looking for a delicious way to beat the heat, cold brew is the answer. So, the next time you're craving a caffeine fix, skip the hot coffee and opt for a delicious glass of cold brew instead. Your taste buds – and your body – will thank you!

Here’s a great recipe to get you started:

  • Start with good quality coffee. Check out the Brazil, Guatemala, or Basecamp as a good starting point.

  • 1:8 ratio — 1 gram of coffee for every 8 grams of water will make a good concentrate.

  • If you’re grinding your own, go pretty coarse. Close to the coarsest you can go on most grinders. If you’re not sure, just select the cold brew grind option, and we’ll grind it for you.

  • Add coffee to the jar and top with water. Stir to get all of the coffee saturated. Then put it in the fridge for 12-24 hours (longer for light roasts).

  • After brewing, it’s time to filter. Pour it through a strainer and then through a pre-rinsed paper filter. Pre-rinsing will remove any paper taste, keeping a clean and beautiful cold brew taste.

  • Dilute and enjoy! Start with a coffee concentrate-to-water ratio of 2:1 and dilute further until it tastes good to you. Enjoy!
